Hello,

My name is Pedro Amaral, and I am a software engineer who loves to learn and talk about economics, management and finance.

I am currently a developer at Seedrs, an equity crowdfunding platform for investing in startups and later-stage businesses throughout Europe. At Seedrs, I help maintaining the technical aspects of the platform in shape and implement new features to support the business needs.

I've always loved math and I've always been fascinated by the complexity and beauty of the business world. Entrepreneur at heart, I've also always dreamed of creating and managing my own company.

My experience at Seedrs has made my interest in finance and investment grow. My software engineering academic background did not provide me with enough knowledge about topics such as management or economics, which is why I decided to pursue a journey to learn more about them.

I am planning on getting a master's degree in finance in 2015 and possibly an MBA in the following years. Until then I'll read academic material in the area and digest some of the new knowledge in the form of blog posts. The main purpose of these posts is to summarize and help me organize what I learned.
